Position Overview:
The Head of Developer Experience is a pivotal role focused on shaping and executing Socure's developer experience strategy. This includes leading the development of our next-generation Developer Hub (DevHub), enhancing our APIs to accelerate time-to-revenue growth, and simplifying integrations for our clients. Reporting to the Head of Platform Products, you will play a critical role in enabling developers to seamlessly integrate Socure's solutions, thereby driving adoption and customer satisfaction. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver a world-class developer experience that aligns with Socure's business objectives and technological advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the overall developer experience strategy, focusing on innovation, ease of integration, and accelerating clients' time to value.
Developer Hub (DevHub) Innovation: Lead the design and implementation of the next-generation DevHub, creating a centralized platform that provides developers with the tools, resources, and documentation they need to integrate Socure's solutions effortlessly.
API Enhancement: Oversee the development and optimization of APIs to ensure they are robust, intuitive, and facilitate rapid integration, thereby accelerating time-to-revenue growth.
Integration Simplification: Work closely with engineering and product teams to simplify integration processes, reducing friction for clients and enabling faster deployment of Socure's solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Partnerships to align developer experience initiatives with business goals and ensure cohesive execution across the organization.
Community Engagement: Build and nurture a strong developer community through events, forums, and partnerships, fostering engagement and gathering feedback to continuously improve the developer experience.
Metrics and Performance: Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of developer experience initiatives, using data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the developer experience team, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
Market Trends and Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in developer experience and API design to ensure Socure remains at the forefront of innovation.
Advocacy and Representation: Serve as a spokesperson for Socure's developer experience initiatives at industry events, conferences, and with key clients and partners.
Qualifications:
Technical:
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of API design, developer tools, SDKs, and integration methodologies. Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, authentication protocols, and related technologies.
Deep understanding of development tools and processes: Proficiency with popular programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go, etc.), DevOps tools, cloud infrastructure, and version control systems like Git.
Experience with APIs, SDKs, and integrations: Strong background in building, designing, and optimizing developer-facing products like APIs, SDKs, or internal development tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines: Knowledge of automation in software development, including continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.
Knowledge of developer ecosystems: Understanding of developer communities, open-source projects, and how to engage developers effectively.
Developer engagement: Demonstrated success in fostering developer communities and encouraging adoption of tools, platforms, and APIs.
Product vision and roadmap creation: Ability to shape the vision of developer-facing products, define the developer journey, and prioritize features based on user feedback and business goals.
Experience with developer-focused UX/UI design: A good sense of what makes tools, APIs, or platforms intuitive and easy to use for developers.
Leadership:
Experience: 10+ years of experience in developer experience, developer relations, or a similar leadership role within the technology or fintech industry, with a proven track record of driving successful developer-focused initiatives.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for developer experience that aligns with company objectives and market needs.
Customer-Centric Approach: Deep empathy for developers and a commitment to delivering solutions that enhance their experience and success.
Collaboration: Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence and align multiple teams and stakeholders.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of articulating complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership and external partners.
Innovation Mindset: A passion for staying current with industry trends and continuously seeking ways to incorporate new ideas and technologies into the developer experience.
Results-Oriented: Proven track record of setting and achieving ambitious goals, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Data-driven approach: Use of metrics to track and improve the developer experience. Familiarity with developer experience platforms, analytics tools, and KPIs to measure engagement, adoption, and satisfaction.
Problem-solving mindset: Comfortable troubleshooting issues developers face and iterating on solutions that improve their experience.
