Overview:

As a Staff Data Engineer at Socure, you will take on a pivotal role in architecting and driving the implementation of our data platform's core components. This role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Product teams to ensure the delivery of robust, reliable, and scalable data pipelines. You will spearhead projects from inception to completion, leveraging cutting-edge big data and cloud technologies to deliver data insights effectively and efficiently. This position is available for remote work, with occasional visits to the office as required by project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop integral parts of our data platform in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Take ownership of projects, driving them from planning to deployment, ensuring high-quality and low-latency data insights.

  • Optimize costs and improve efficiency across data processes and infrastructure.

  • Work with legal and security teams to ensure our data handling and processes comply with all legal and contractual requirements regarding PII data.

  • Create and maintain ML feature data pipelines for both real-time and batch processing to support model training and inference.

  • Automate data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes to accelerate model development and refinement.

  • Establish and promote best practices and processes to democratize data access efficiently.

  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing big data solutions with low latency.

  • Proven ability to think at scale and develop, deploy, and manage solutions that achieve goals of high availability, resilience, security, and quality.

  • Experience in architecting large-scale data solutions in modern cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP).

  • Deep understanding of data lakes and data warehouses.

  • Proficient in NoSQL technologies (AWS DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis) and big-data technologies (Apache Spark, Presto).

  • Strong programming skills with extensive experience in Python and SQL.

  • Experience in building streaming data pipelines using tools like Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, Apache Flink.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities, capable of designing and executing efficient algorithms for processing large data volumes.

  • Empathetic approach to the user experience, with a continuous focus on improving customer productivity.

  • Experience in building ML feature data pipelines and familiarity with the Databricks ecosystem are advantageous.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Empathetic and user-centric approach in technology development.

Salary Disclosure:

Base Salary range: $177,000 - $212,000

This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
