Senior Accountant
We're in need of a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. Your responsibilities will include keeping track of company finances, monitoring budgets, conducting audits on the accuracy of our financial information, and providing assurance that our accounting practices adhere to US GAAP accounting. The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and oversees daily accounting activities. We expect you to be highly organized and detail-oriented. A good understanding of corporate finance principles and the ability to analyze financial statements are needed. You should also have excellent communication skills to facilitate cooperation within our company's teams, and the ability to educate team members on the importance of following financial processes.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant at Intellihot provides management with financial information by accurately managing the monthly accounting processes, researching and analyzing financial transactions to identify key business trends and assisting in preparing financial statements. This position reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for our General Ledger Accounting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information
- Performing audits on financial data to assure its accuracy and truthfulness
- Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals and reclassifications
- Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct
- Leverage new ERP system (NetSuite) to maximize efficiencies and accuracy in data used to operate the business
- Bi-Weekly Payroll
- Month‐end journal entries
- Bank reconciliations
- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
- Revenue recognition
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- Assist in preparation of financial statements
- Assist with annual external audit process
- Provide management assistance for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed
- Responsible for Company Credit Card Reconciliation
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Qualifications
Job Requirements and Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in similar accounting role
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in accounting and business management software, experience with NetSuite is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft products; advanced level Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot tables
- Knowledge and proficiency in US GAAP accounting
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read and analyze financial reports
- Eagerness to learn, grow and challenge oneself
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges
- Team Player – able to assist team members with questions, a positive attitude with a customer service approach
Salary Range: $80,000-100,000 per year
