The position will work closely with the Assistant General Counsel and key business leaders, and will play a critical role in the client-contracting process to drive efficiency, growth, and results.

The Contract Analyst will support the Legal Department’s contracting function by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts with plan-sponsor and other health-plan clients, and by collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and resolve contract risks and facilitate smooth contract execution. This position will play a critical role in the company’s growth through use of the department’s contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform to optimize quality and timeliness of contractual work product and deliverables. The Contract Analyst will report to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel, but will also work closely with other Legal Department attorneys, a fast-moving sales team, and other business leaders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract preparation through all lifecycle stages (drafting, revision, approval, filing, and distribution)
  • Create accurate first drafts of contracts and amendments
  • Respond to client questions and contract redlines by drafting replies, approving edits or proposing alternate language, and coordinating with internal subject matter experts
  • Negotiate contracts to achieve favorable terms
  • Identify potential contract risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate and work cross-functionally with internal teams in sales, account management, proposal management, underwriting, operations, privacy, IT, and finance groups, to ensure timely communication and completion of legal deliverables
  • Recommend updates to contract language, negotiation playbook, and other best practices
  • Ensure adherence to contracting processes such as internal review-and-approval and distribution workflows
  • Prepare legal deliverables for company bids, quotes, and request-for-proposal responses
  • Help manage the contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform and other technology tools
  • Drive other strategic and operational initiatives with on-time and on-budget results
  • Responsible for the adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct including reporting of noncompliance

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. required, with paralegal experience/certificate preferred
  • 3+ years of contract analyst/specialist experience
  • Prior health care, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), and/or software-as-a-service (SaaS) experience preferred
  • Experience in using legal-department technology solutions (e.g., contract lifecycle management, document-management, and matter-management programs)
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups (e.g., finance, operations, sales)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, while successfully managing multiple projects to completion
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work product in a customer-focused environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Base Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
